Win tickets to the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour 2012

Getaway, together with Cape Union Mart are giving away three pairs of tickets to the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour 2012, worth R45 each*.

Death-defying mountain-based adventures, spectacular sportsmanship and breath-taking scenery all combine to make up this remarkable series of films produced by the world’s finest mountain filmmakers.

The nine short films were selected from hundreds of entries received by the Banff Centre in Canada from mountain-based extreme sport and adventure filmmakers across the globe. Films featured in the 2012 line-up include All.I.Can: The Short Cut, Towers of the Ennedi, Frontier, Reel Rock: Origins – Obe & Ashima, White Water Grand Prix, C.A.R.C.A, From the Inside Out, Concrete Dreams and Reel Rock: Sketchy Andy.

“This year’s adrenaline packed antics feature, amongst others, extreme snow sports, rock climbing, kayaking, mountain biking, bouldering and slacklining – all brought to life on the big screen. Banff will be screened at five Ster-Kinekor cinemas across the country:

CapeTown: Cavendish Square & Tygervalley Centre
Johannesburg: Sandton City
Pretoria: Brooklyn Mall
Durban: Gateway Centre (one screening only on 1 November)

Competition rules

1. The prizes will be awarded to the senders of the first correct entries drawn after the closing date.
2. Winning entries will win a pair of tickets to a screening on Thursday evening, 25 October 2012, at Ster Kinekor, Cavendish Square.
3. The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
4. Entries should include your title, postal and email addresses, a day-time contact number and/or cellphone number.
5. Only one online entry per person.
6. The prizes are not transferable, nor can they be converted into cash.
7. Staff members of Getaway, the host company or organisation sponsoring the prize, their advertising and public-relations agencies, and immediate families may not enter. The competition is open to all other readers of Getaway.
8. If a response from the winner is required by Getaway or the host after being notified of their winnings, the winner is required to respond within two days of being notified or they may forfeit their prize if Getaway or the host see fit.
