We’re giving away two tickets, worth R750 each, to the 2012 Getaway Travel Blog Conference, held at the Upper Eastside Hotel in Woodstock, Cape Town, on Saturday 4 August 2012.

If you’re wanting to improve your blogging and social media skills, or learn how to market your travel business through a blog, you need to attend the Getaway Travel Blog Conference. The conference, sponsored by Cape Town Tourism, will offer practical advice for travel bloggers and tourism professionals on everything from starting a blog, how to gain an audience, building up a social media following, and designing a blog.

Getaway’s second travel blog conference will feature top international travel bloggers Nellie Huang (of Wildjunket), Melvin Boecher (of Traveldudes), Matt Long (of Landlopers) and Keith Jenkins (of VelvetEscape) who will be speaking about a range of blogging topics, including how to leverage social media channels, how to monetise your travel blog and how to write blogs that drive traffic. They will be joined by local blogging experts, such as Andrew Brauteseth from Cape Town photography blog Guy with Camera, to form a day full of interesting and practical talks on travel blogging.

Whether you’re a blogging newbie, an old hand, or want to learn how to use blogging and social media to market your tourism business, this conference is for you.

  1. So this prize is just for the conference entry ticket? The part of saying Turkish Airlines covers taxes confuses me as to what taxes are covered and what exactly is not included (flights/accomodations?)

    • Hi there. We have changed the terms and conditions at the bottom of the page. It appears the rules were transferred from another competition by mistake. Sorry for any inconvenience caused.
