The theme is ‘Beyond Africa’ and the competition is open to all photos taken beyond Africa’s borders. Whether it’s a famous international landmark, a lesser-known gem, foreign wildlife, or simply a great overseas holiday snap, we would love to see it! Become a Facebook fan and install our photography competition app. Upload your photos to the app to enter. The 20 to 30 best photos will be selected by Getaway photojournalists on 1 March and posted to Facebook. Facebook fans will be able to vote for their best photo. Voting closes on 15 March.

Who should attend this course?
The course is suited to both prospective photographers, who are unfamiliar with their digital SLR cameras, and current photographers who are not yet shooting in full manual mode or who want to refresh and deepen their photography skills. Students may use any type of digital SLR camera. You will need a DSLR camera for the course.

* The judges’ decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
* Only ten entries per person.
* Staff members of Getaway, the host company or organisation sponsoring the prize, their advertising and public-relations agencies, and immediate families may not enter. The competition is open to all other readers of Getaway.
* Winners are not eligible for another holiday prize for six months after the closing date of the competition they have won.
* If a response from the winner is required by Getaway or the host after being notified of their winnings, the winner is required to respond within two months of being notified or they may forfeit their prize if Getaway or the host see fit.
* Prizes will only be delivered within South Africa.
* Entrants have to be members of the Facebook page and have to install the photography competition app in order to enter.
* Entrants must upload their photos to the photography competition app in order to enter them into the competition.
* The judges will choose a shortlist of finalists at the end of the competition. These will be displayed in the ‘finalist’ album in the photography competition app. Facebook fans vote for their favourite photo to win by clicking on ‘Like’.
* The photo with the most ‘Likes’ will win.
* Images are judged on their technical and artistic merits.
* The Getaway photography competition on Facebook is aimed primarily at promoting photography in Africa. Therefore, Getaway reserves the right to use the images entered into the competition on its website and on Facebook for no extra payment.
* The prizes are not transferable, nor can they be converted into cash.
* All travelling costs not expressly included, airport taxes if flights are included, visa costs, and any additional costs will be at the winners’ expense, unless specified.
* The prizes must be taken up within 12 months of the closing date, at a time to suit both the hosts and the winners, unless otherwise specified.

Hi,
I am experiencing some difficulty loading my images onto the facebook site for the ‘Beyond Africa’ competition. I am a member of the Facebook page and have installed the photography competition app in order to enter, however just when I am about load my images the page moves to view entries and flickers as if its struggling to load
.
Any ideas on what I may be doing wrong?
